What is Pokémon TCG?
Pokémon TCG is the official Pokémon Trading Card Game, published by The Pokémon Company — the physical card game built around the same Pokémon from the video games and animated series, translated into a two-player battling and collecting game that's been running since 1996. If you've never played a trading card game before, or you've played others and are wondering what makes this one different, here's the shape of it.
Pokémon, Energy and Trainers
Each player builds a deck around Pokémon cards — the same creatures from the games and show, from starters like Pikachu and Charizard through to the newest generation — supported by Energy cards that power their attacks and Trainer cards that let you search your deck, heal, or disrupt your opponent. Matches are won by knocking out six of your opponent's Pokémon (taking a Prize card each time) or by making them run out of cards to draw, which keeps games fast enough to fit in a lunch break once you know the rules, while leaving real room for deck-building depth.

Pokémon TCG's pull is the sheer depth of nearly three decades of sets, alternate-art rares and iconic Pokémon to chase — from vintage cards through to the newest era, there's always a chase card connected to a Pokémon collectors already love.
